What Indonesia Can Expect from Investment with Britain
Indonesian Industry Minister MS Hidayat has offered British investors an opportunity to add their investment in the crude palm oil industry. “I just now offered oil palm downstream processing industry,” he said after meeting with British Trade, Investment and Small Businesses Minister Lord Davies of Abersoch here on Wednesday.
Besides that Hidayat had also asked for cooperation with the British government to develop maritime business in Indonesia. “I asked Britain to give an idea to me regarding maritime business as Britain is a maritime country. So it is how to promote maritime products,” he said.
Hidayat said if possible the cooperation between the two countries’ government could be continued to cooperation in business. On the occasion Britain has offered assistance to promote Indonesian export products by inviting 10 Indonesian businessmen to London to be met with their would-be partners.
“I will assign the British Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to choose the businessmen including from small and medium businesses who have export programs or fellow businessmen wishing to seek partners for inftrastructure projects here,” he said. Britain has also asked Indonesia to form a trade agency in London to ease promotion of trade and investment in Indonesia.
